Description Of An Ultimate HOLY LAND TOUR is designed for a 10 days 8 nights Tour: Day 1 Depart USA:
Depart U.S.A. for Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport.Dinner and breakfast will be served on
board
Day 2 Arrive to Tel Aviv:
Upon arrival we will be met by our guide and taken for a short tour of Tel Aviv and the
ancient city of Jaffa. Continuing to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Galilee:
We leave this morning for Caesarea, the capital of the Roman Province. See the Crusader
Castle, Roman Theater, and Aqueduct and the harbor for which St.Paul was taken to Rome.
Continue to Haifa and drive up Mount Carmel(the birthplace of the Holy
Mother) for a panoramic view of the city and port ,
the River Kishon and the Mediterranean. Then on to Acco, the ancient port city and the
capital of the crusaders. Drive inland to Megiddo, one of Solomon's chariot cities and
scene of the final battle of Armageddon. Drive to Nazareth, boyhood home of Jesus to see
the Church of the Annunciation and walk through the old bazaars to Mary's Well and then to
Cana, site of Jesus' first miracle. Continue to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - Galilee:
This morning enjoy a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee. Drive to Capernaum to see the
ancient Synagogue, Byzantine Chapel and home of St. Peter before driving to Tabgha, the
scene of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes and to the Church of Beatitudes, built on
Mount Sermon where you will enjoy a beautiful view of the Sea of Galilee. Continue via the
fertile Hula Valley past Druze Villages to the Golan Heights. Ascend crossing the Hatzbani
River to Banias, formerly Caesarea Philippi, with its waterfalls. Here Peter made his
great confession, "Thou are the Christ". Drive along the eastside of the lake to
Kursi, the site where Jesus cast out the Legion of demons. Return to Tiberias for dinner
and overnight.
Day 5 - Galilee/Jerusalem:
This morning we will drive to the River Jordan to the point where it flows from the Sea of
Galilee. Optional stop at the Baptismal site. Drive through the Jezreel Valley south to
Beit Shean, the Decapolis city of Sycthopolis where we will visit the Roman Theater and
see the extensive excavations which have been carefully preserved. Continue south to
Jericho, the world's oldest city, to see the excavations, Elisha's Well and the Mount of
Temptation.
Ascend to Jerusalem as the sun begins to set over the Judean Hills, reflecting rays of
gold on the city's buildings. Arrive at your hotel in time for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 - Jerusalem:
Our tour of Jerusalem begins with a drive to the Mount of Olives and Place of Ascension
for a most wonderful view of Jerusalem. Then drive to Gethsemane to see the Olive Garden
where Jesus was betrayed and visit the Church of All Nations. Continue through the Kidron
Valley, passing through the toms of Absalom, St. James the Less and Zecharia, Mount Ophel,
Valley of Gehenna, to the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu built over the Palace of
Caiaphas the High Priest. Drive to Mount Zion visiting the Room of the Last Supper, and
the Church of Dormition Abbey. Enter through Zion's Gate to the
Cardo, the ancient main street of Jerusalem, which dates from the time of Jesus. Continue
to the Herodian Quarter.
See the spectacular excavations dating back to the Herodian Period. Walk to the Western
Wall then enter the Temple Area for outside view of Al-Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the
Rock built over the traditional site of Abraham's sacrifice. Take a walk along the Via
Dolorosa to Mount Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Continue to the Jaffa
Gate, then drive to the Garden Tomb, another site of Mount Calvary. Return to the hotel
for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 - Jerusalem:
Our day starts with a short drive that takes us to Bethlehem to see the Church of the
Nativity and the place where Jesus was born. See a view of Shepherd's Fields and the
Fields of Boaz.
Visit Rachel's Tomb, one of the most picturesque places in the Holy Land. Drive past the
Knesset (Israeli Parliament) to see the Model of ancient Jerusalem as it was up to 70 A.D.
Continue to Yad Vashem, Israel's memorial to the Holocaust. Walk along the Avenue of the
Righteous where trees have been planted in honor of the Christians who helped save Jews
during World War II. Visit the Shrine of the Book, especially built to display the Dead
Sea Scrolls discovered around Qumran. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 - Jerusalem:
After breakfast drive to Bethany, home of Mary and Martha. Here Jesus raised Lazarus from
the dead. Continue through the Judaean Hills to Qumran , near the Dead Sea to see the
remains of the Essene monastery and the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.
Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada and take the cable car to the top.
Here the Zealots withstood the Roman Army for three years. Drive to Ein Gedi for a swim in
the Dead Sea before returning to Jerusalem for farewell dinner
and overnight.
Day 9 - Jerusalem:
Full day at leisure to attend church services, revisit some sites, visit the Israel
Museum, shop or just relax. Farewell dinner at your hotel.
Day 10 - Tel Aviv/USA:
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the USA , as our Journey to the Holy Land
comes to an end. |
